Scan a barcode to lookup products in an online database and find out what users think. Add new products to the database and share your findings to help others or voice your opinion by voting on existing products.
The ingredients listed in Animal-Free can be viewed by those that are always animal derived and those that are sometimes animal derived. Additionally, Animal-Free features a list of commonly misunderstood or unfamiliar vegan ingredients that will help aspiring or new vegans expand their dietary horizons.

Wonderful App , extremely helpful but I cant seem to get the scanner to work for me.
Very helpful when I am not sure of an ingredients origin, but the scanner needs to be fixed and the interface updated for iOS 8. Other than that, a great app!
Awesome app, use it a lot(: but needs to be updated to look like ios9
the app is great if you love to read ingredients, but the scanner doesnt work too well. it could use some more work.
This app had been a huge help for transitioning to veganism. Great resource!!!
Some bad moments
I have scanned Ten Products and only one barcode was recognized (not from the database, from the Scanner. Otter Scanner-apps had read the Code, but Not this One.
I just got this and tried it out by scanning a bunch of common things I have like Katsup and peanut butter etc. It failed to find anything I have. I dont know why; maybe there is a good reason, but it found nothing of the many many common items I scanned. So, I dont know.
Its a nice concept. Scanner doesnt work though. I also dislike the meat display for the background.
Tried scanning multiple items, nothing worked. I thought I was doing it wrong but 3 other similar apps I downloaded worked fine. The list included was shorter than I thought as well.
The raw meat background is disgusting and makes me not want to open the app, plus the scanner doesnt work. Good info but bad layout. Disappointing
The scanner doesnt work, so whats the point? I wont want to look up specific ingredients. Should I hold out for an upgrade or delete this app?....
